QUM Education Kits©
This resource represents the complete in-service package. A PowerPoint lecture CD of each topic is provided, and in conjunction with the Seminar Template manuscript, allows the Pharmacist to provide professional, informative, relevant and interesting education sessions. Furthermore, a DVD copy of each session is provided with discussions led by Associate Professor Chris Bonner. These DVDs can be left at the facility to provide a convenient and flexible education resource for staff. Seminar booklets are also included to provide care staff with a hard copy reference for each associated QUM topic. Each new topic is released with an entire Kit every 6 months.

QUMscales©
This resource comprises of a series of monitoring tools designed specifically to assess the safe, effective, appropriate and judicious use of common medication categories in Aged Care. Current QUMscales exist for antihypertensives; drugs for diabetes; analgesics and antidepressants. Additional QUMscales are being developed for benzodiazepines and drugs for bone health.

The Crushing and Dosing Guide for Aged Care Staff©
This resource represents the most comprehensive, clinically applicable and user-friendly crushing guide available. Instead of simply indicating which drugs should not be crushed, the guide actually directs the health care team to appropriate solutions to common crushing and dosing dilemmas. As a laminated, 2 double page ring-binded resource, this guide is designed for both durability and ease of use at the point of dosage administration.

Drug Guides for RNs and ENs & PCs in Aged Care©
This 2 part resource has effectively answered the call from care staff for a quick, relevant and useful drug information resource – in a language that they can understand. The 2 separate guides deal specifically with the QUM issues associated with drugs commonly used in Aged Care. From the initial database of useful drug information, this guide then becomes the template for the periodic addition of relevant QUM information – as demanded by care staff: e.g. generic drug names; falls prevention; bowel management; sunlight and Vitamin D; care based therapies; pain protocols etc…

The QUM Times©
This quarterly newsletter distribution provides a useful and attention-grabbing medium through which to raise care-staff awareness of topical QUM issues in Aged Care. Choice QUM has commissioned a professional cartoonist to help keep things interesting. The newsletter will also be used to promote the QUM activities and other clinical services provided by pharmacists.
